KELLER PLAZA
OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA - COMPLETED 2012
Jordan Rose, Project Architect & PM for SGPA Architects, AOR
This project was a major occupied rehab of an existing affordable housing project in North Oakland. The building had suffered the usual wear and tear of decades of use, and was in need of both interior and exterior improvements. My role as PA/PM was to complete the design, documentation and permitting process, and manage the project through 13 months of construction. An “occupied rehab” has the special challenge of renovating groups of units in rolling blocks, with each block requiring temporary relocation while the work was going on. Then, the tenants, all very low income families, would move back into their newly renovated units. Included are several amenities and site features, and sub-surface parking.
